This year we have brought our 20 week, fee-free, Tikanga programme to Te Awamutu.
Tikanga Māori has been evolving for thousands of years, refined and handed down by the generations gone. It is our cultural heritage and language. ‘Tika’ means ‘right’ or ‘correct’ so, in Māori terms, to act in accordance with Tikanga is to behave in a way that is culturally proper or appropriate.
This introductory programme gives you the foundations of understanding what tikanga is, why it exists, and how it manifests itself in practice. While also learning about some of the history of Te Awamutu. We have spaces available this August.
