We already host some of the world’s most prestigious sporting events including elite equestrian competition at the Kihikihi Equestrian Centre, world championship rowing, World Cup cycling and the national Waka Ama Championships.
We’ve got a huge range of local sports grounds and facilities including the Trust Waikato Swimming and Events Centre and the historic Cambridge Town Hall. Whether your event is big or small, don’t sweat it. Nothing’s a problem in Waipa.

What’s not to love? Waipa is smack-bang in the middle of the Golden Triangle, in that magic zone between Hamilton, Auckland and Tauranga.
That means your event is within coo-ee of millions of people…and wait, they’re all coming!
Auckland? Less than two hours drive time. Hamilton? Say 20 minutes. Tauranga or Rotorua? Allow just over an hour. Add on another 35 minutes to Taupo.
Oh, you prefer to fly? No problem. Hamilton’s Airport is actually in the Waipa District (ssshhh, say nothing) making New Zealand and the rest of the world just a boarding pass away.
